making a vector
please, tell me if this helps (:

step one: file>new make it width-420 height-560.
step two: figure outt what colors you want to use. i would at least have four colors. it's the easiest.
step three: after you get your colors, get one color and go to edit>fill and make sure the fill part is set to foreground color and make sure the color is selected. then click okay. your back ground should now be that color
step four: choose your vector brush and a diffrent color for this, and then put the vector where you want it to be positioned, normally it's in the middle.

Photobucket

step five: click your eraser tool and click right in the middle where all your vector lines come together make sure the eraser has covered them all.

Photobucket

step six: chose your magic wand tool and chose every other two vector lines (doesn't matter which color you chose.)

Photobucket

step seven: make a new layer.(but, so select your vector lines you have to be on your background layer then go back to your new layer to fill.) step eight: edit>fill and choose either that color, or another color that you want the background of that to be.
step nine: right click that layer and go to blending options>pattern overlay, and chose a polka dot or whatver you want as your pattern. stay in your blending options menu step ten: stroke>pattern, choose your pattern and make the stroke to 1.

Photobucket

step eleven: now do this with the color two, just repeat steps six through ten, except don't do every other two lines, just the ones beside the ones your did with one in between.(your going to use the same pattern for all three vector lines.) *make sure you make a new layer for each one also.

Photobucket

*MAKE SURE TO PUT THESE LAYERS UNDER YOUR FIRST THREE LAYERS BUT ABOVE YOUR BACKGROUND LAYER!*
step twelve: now to the other vector lines. you want to select every vector line beside the first color that you used with your first pattern.
step thirteen: make a new layer, and edit>fill, with the last color that you have left.
step fourteen: now need it selected, and chose a brush and put a brush inside it.

Photobucket
step fifteenth: now do the same thing that your did steo tweleve through fourteen, except selecting the first color that you used with your first pattern your going to use the second then the third.(make sure you make a new layer for each.)

Photobucket

step sixteen: almost done. now you want to merge down your image. just right click one of your layers. it will say it down at the bottom. then go to your background layer, right click it and then click duplicate.
step seventeen: right click on your duplicated layer, go to blending options>stroke. make it stroke-1, pattern, the lines. make sure that it's not on the outside, it has to be on the inside (:
